About This Blog’s Title
The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent almost 40 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)

I am looking fr a state, or government agency that can answer questions regarding STD and LTD. I am being told that if I get SS benfits I have to repay my insurance company that I have paid for STD and LTD insurance for years. What did I pay for and how does the government allow this? If you can piont me in a direction for information I would be very happy.

You would have to read the contract with the STD or LTD carrier to find your answer. Most do require that you repay them if you receive Social Security disability benefits. That’s why LTD carriers push beneficiaries to apply for Social Security disability. If you want additional information, you might check with the Department of Insurance in your state.
