Fake Speed Bumps Slow Traffic (Temporarily)

Here’s the latest technological innovation to control traffic —fake three-dimensional speed bumps
embedded in streets in Philadelphia. From a distance, the bumps look
real and drivers slow down (at least the drivers slow down until they
catch on to the trick). They’re cheaper than real speed bumps,
don’t impede water flow, and don’t endanger emergency vehicles. Pretty
clever.
