Our grandchild has a documented physical and mental disability and has experienced discrimination in her ninth grade year as she has been placed in a disciplinary setting despite the fact that her disability causes her to act in a defiant manner. She feels that the principals treat her differently and embarass her in front of other high school students. At the present time she is losing ground in this difficult environment as they add days to her confinement when she does not meet physical demands of the alternative school. We were not satisfied with our meeting with the superintendent and want to be more knowledgable when we meet with them.
